The 2017 season "RED" was wonderfully successful. Thank you to the 48 dancers who gave their time, energy and talent. Thank you to the 3 choreographers who gave their vision, passion and skills. Thank you to Andre for leading the production, visuals and exhibition and thank you to all other volunteers from those hanging posters to those cooking sausages and everyone in between!
A special thanks also goes to our sponsors and audience members. The community supporting performing arts in Townsville is really quite special. We can't wait to see what unfolds for the 2018 season! Whatever language you are fluent in, contemporary dance speaks it all. Red is the 2017 season for Ulysses Dancers.

48 contemporary dancers, three choreographers, one colour. Red is Ulysses Dancers’ 2017 production, and explores everything the word means to the local contemporary dance group’s performers and choreographers. Rehearsals for Red are underway for the cast of Ulysses Dancers. The contemporary dance company has been preparing for their upcoming season; Red for the last few months.
"Working with a cast of 48 contemporary dancers is an incredibly rewarding, exciting and challenging journey," commented Jane Pirani, Artistic Director of Ulysses Dancers. "As we celebrate 10 years of Ulysses Dancers, we wanted to mark the occasion with something special. We have elected to produce one great show as a collaborative effort between myself, and fellow choreographers Shaughn Pegoraro and Cassie Steen" she added. Excitement is building for the 2017 season. As preparations are underway for another season of contemporary dance, Founder Jane Pirani reflects on what inspires her when planning a season of dance.
